Lotus & Lily
Originally launched as a mother-daughter enterprise - Lotus and Lily began as a children's aromatherapy bath & body line.
Back in 2012, with a newborn son in the house and the advent of specific needs arising from two very different kids and age sets - founder Marcie Taff noticed how many products on the market completely missed the mark in addressing these necessities.
Cultivated through years of expertise as a massage therapist, Marcie began learning the craft in Colorado in 1994 and ultimately brought both her skill sets and her family back to her roots in Burlington Vermont.
Through her experiences in the craft - Marcie learned the nuances and positive effects of aromatherapy.
The aromas and botanicals in Lotus & Lily products were formulated and hand-crafted in her garage to create an innovative product line infused with intention.
Part of Marcie’s intention was to give parents a much-needed tool to assist them with day-to-day inevitabilities that were seemingly two sides of the same coin.
One side was addressing kids' behavior and mood swings. The other side were the challenges inherent in keeping a clean household and managing inflammation in chemical reactions.
Olfactory senses are keen in children.
Lotus and Lily has grown from the early days of selling directly to the community on the Chittenden County Farmers Market circuits and grown up with her two children.
The company keeps its original intentions and passion for helping people by continuing to create products that enable people to live and feel better in so many ways.
Sugar Scrub Club
Why should you be using a Sugar Body Scrub?
Sugar scrubs brighten tired, dull-looking skin to promote healthy, smooth, and flawless skin.
Try it once and you will plainly see how this addition to your routine will give you the glow.
Sugar body scrubs are great for exfoliating your skin, as they aid in keeping it healthy by removing dead skin cells, lifting away dirt and excess oil, as well as stimulating circulation.
Sugar scrubs also fight skin aging in a natural way. Another benefit of a sugar scrub is that it can be used all over the body, not just the face. Just like the face, the body needs exfoliation, too!
Sugar scrubs shouldn't be part of your daily beauty routine. Over-exfoliating can irritate your skin so aim to use a sugar scrub no more than three times per week at most. Don't use a sugar scrub on skin that's sunburned or highly sensitive.
Soap, shower gel, or body wash should be used before applying the body scrub. This way your skin is clean and primed up for the body scrub to do its magic.
It is recommended to exfoliate prior to shaving, as exfoliating first will help prevent the razor from becoming overloaded with dead skin cells, which reduces its effectiveness. Basically, exfoliating first is a serious pro-tip for a closer shave.
For a Lip Scrub, all you need to do is scoop out a little bit of the formula out with your finger, and then gently rub it over your lips. Once you've scrubbed and wiped the dry skin away, you'll find your lips soft, hydrated, and refreshed.
A natural source of glycolic acid (an AHA), sugar breaks down layers of dead skin and smooths the skin's surface.
It also speeds up rehydration, keeping skin conditioned and moisturized.
Sugar granules are rounder and less abrasive than salt, making them a gentler exfoliant.
Sugar is a natural humectant. It draws moisture from the environment into your skin. Using sugar based products can help hydrate your skin and retain moisture. Sugar is also a natural source of glycolic acid, which is an alpha hydroxy acid.
Our Sugar Scrubs are hand crafted and created in small batches. Every season we bring forth a new formulation to keep your skin glowing and sweet.
Joining the Lotus & Lily's Sugar Scrub Club is a perfect way to always keep your shower shelf stocked with your new secret weapon against dull skin.
